Voki Introduction - 3rd Grade
Learning Target:
- Today I will create a Voki to represent myself.
- Using complete sentences
- So that I can learn about my classmates.
- I'll know I've got it when my Voki is 30-60 seconds long and tells others about myself.
What is a Voki? A Voki is a free online tool that allows you to create and personalize a speaking avatar.
Day 1: Write a script to introduce yourself to the class.
Day 2: Personalize your Voki, Record your Script and copy the permalink to turn in your assignment on Edmodo.
Warning- You will not be able to save your Voki without creating an account. It must be finished before class is over! You must copy the permalink and turn in your assignment or paste it in a Google Doc or you will lose it!
Day 1: Write a script to introduce yourself to the class.
- First tell us your first name.
- Tell us what your tech goals are for this year.
- Tell us what you did this summer.
- Give a few fun facts about yourself.
- Be specific and descriptive.
- Practice reading your script. It needs to be between 30 and 60 seconds long.
- Remember don’t share any private information, like your last name, phone number, or where you live.
Day 2: Personalize your Voki, Record your Script and copy the permalink to turn in your assignment on Edmodo.

- 1. Go to www.Voki.com
- 2. Click the “Create” tab at the top.
- 3. Click on “Customize Your Character” and choose “Head.” Pick your character.
- 4. Click on the “Clothing” and “Bling” tabs to change dress your character and add accessories. When you are finished, click “Done.”
- 5. Click the “Background” button and choose a background.
- 6. Click on “Give It a Voice” and then the Microphone icon. Record your voice reading your script. Do not use your last name to keep your identity safe. If you don’t have a microphone you can use the phone option.
- 7. Click the save button.
- 8. Click the Done button.
- 9. Click the Publish button.
- 10. Copy and paste the permalink to turn in your assignment in Edmodo. If you don't have an Edmodo account yet, you can paste it into a Google document or if you are using a Chromebook choose “Send to a Friend” and email it to me at [email protected] You can use my email as the sender email or your school Google account email.
